The Indus River in southern Pakistan has breached flood defences, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people. The floodwaters have burst their banks in many places in southern Pakistan.

There are reports of new flooding in the province of Sindh, with estimates that hundreds of thousands more people have been made homeless by floodwaters in the past four days.
