The Interfaith Centre of Melbourne in conjunction with Buddha’s Light International Association of Victoria, will present the Annual Interfaith Ceremony for Peace and Understanding in Federation Square on Sunday 27th April at 11.00 am.

Religious and spiritual leaders from diverse traditions will offer chants, prayers and hymns from their respective traditions along with the Venerables of Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Yarraville.

The Ceremony will begin with an Australian Indigenous tradition: Ron Murray, descendent of the Wamba Wamba tribe (Swan Hill) will open with Acknowledgement of Country and offer a performance on the indigenous spiritual instrument, the didgeridoo.

Buddha’s Day and Multicultural Festival has a long tradition in Victoria and will be held over two days in Federation Square: Saturday April 26th from 10 am to 8 pm and on Sunday April 27th from 10 am to 5 pm.

The magnificent multicultural program is designed for all people: families, young adults and children.

Events include: Light Offering Ceremonies, Baby Blessing Ceremony, lectures, meditation, musical performance and art and craft exhibitions and stalls.

Delicious vegetarian food is served all day along the River Terrace.
